The Stamp in Your Passport: Your Rights While You Wait
Once your application is submitted through MOS and confirmed as formally received, the Małopolska office will issue a stamp (stempel) in your passport — or a paper confirmation if your passport lacks space. This stamp is critical: it gives you full legal right to stay and work in Poland while your case is being processed, even if your previous visa or permit expires during that time. You are not in Poland illegally during the waiting period.
What the stamp does NOT do: it does not grant you the right to travel to other Schengen countries as a residence permit would. For that, you need the physical card in hand. If you travel outside Poland on the stamp alone, re-entry may be complicated depending on your nationality and the border officer you encounter.
