Profil Zaufany is Poland's national digital identity system. Without it, you can't submit residence permit applications online or access government services digitally.
Since April 27, 2026, it's mandatory for all immigration applications. Here's how to get one as a foreigner.
What Is Profil Zaufany?
Profil Zaufany (Trusted Profile) is a free, government-issued digital identity that lets you:
- Submit applications to government offices online
- Sign official documents electronically
- Access ePUAP (the government e-services portal)
- Log in to MOS 2.0 to apply for residence permits
Think of it as your secure login to all Polish government digital services.
Why Foreigners Need It Now
Before April 27, 2026: you could visit the Urząd Województwa in person.
After April 27, 2026: all Karta Pobytu applications must be submitted via MOS 2.0 — which requires Profil Zaufany to log in.
No Profil Zaufany = no application = illegal stay.
